If you want to restore old electronics that are housed in filthy and faded cases, you can dramatically bring those cases back to life using hydrogen peroxide and UV light. For this, all you need is some salon-grade hair bleach, some cling film, and sunshine.
After thoroughly cleaning the case, paint on the salon bleach/peroxide with a brush, wrap the case in the cling film, and place in direct sunlight for around six hours. You will be amazed by the results.
